Dhritiman Chaterji
commenced his film acting career as the
protagonist of Satyajit Ray's Pratidwandi (The
Adversary). Most of his acting work has been in
the parallel or independent cinema in India,
with filmmakers such as Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen
and Aparna Sen, among others. He has also worked
in English with well-known filmmakers like Jane
Campion. Some of his well known films are
Aguntuk (Satyajit Ray), Aakaler Sandhane (Mrinal
Sen), 36 Chowringhee Lane (Aparna Sen), Black
(Sanjay Leela Bhansali) and Perfumed Garden (Jagmohan
Mundhra). He has received several acting awards
in India and has been on the Jury of the Indian
National film Awards. Dhritiman pursues a
parallel career in communications and
documentary filmmaking. He plays the pivotal
role of Sachish's uncle Jagmohan in "Chaturanga".
Rituparna is an
outstanding actress from Kolkata who has made a
niche for herself in the wider realm of Indian
cinema. She has worked in almost a hundred
films, with directors like Swapan Saha, Haranath
Chakraborty, Rituparno Ghosh, Buddhadeb Dasgupta,
Aparna Sen, Sandip Ray and many others. Her
versatile performances have earned her accolades
in the state as well as nationally, in
mainstream cinema as well as art house
productions. She won the Indian National Award
for Best Actress for her role in Dahan. She has
played the lead female role of Damini in
Chaturanga.

Subrata is a graduate
of the National School of Drama, New Delhi, and
has trained at the Central School of Speech and
Drama in London. He received the Best Actor
award at the 8th Osian Cinefan Festival 2006 for
the Bengali film, Bibar - Calcutta unabashed. He
has, so far, played the lead role in more than
eight films in four languages. Actives in both
theater and movies, Subrata has essayed the lead
role of Sachish in Chaturanga.
Joy has been trained
in acting under the guidance of noted theatre
director Ebrahim Elkazi. He has had over 15
years of experience on stage, winning the
National Award for Best Theatre Actor at the
Mahindra Excellence Awards 2006. In cinema, he
has worked as an actor with leading Indian
directors like Govind Nihalani. His films have
been shown in several festivals worldwide. Joy
plays the lead supporting role of Sribilash in
Chaturanga.
Kabir Suman is a
musician, songwriter, singer and journalist of
great eminence. He composed music, wrote songs
and did playback singing for four Bengali
feature films. He has released fourteen music
albums so far, many of them path breaking best
sellers. He was awarded BFJA awards for Best
Music Director and Best Lyrist for Probhat Roy's
Bengali feature film, Shedin Choitromash in
1998. He has also had a number of publications.
Kabir's stage acting debut was in Koushik Sen's
Shomudrer Mouno. His film acting debut was in
Suman Mukhopadhyay's Herbert (2005). He has
acted in several other films since. Kabir plays
the supporting role of Lilanandaswami in
Chaturanga.
Avik
Saha is an acclaimed transaction lawyer and
business law advisor with a flair for creative,
off-beat and first-time solutions. He is
credited with designing of unique transaction
structures and legalscapes. He is a
multi-faceted personality, a trend setter and
out-of-the-box thinker. With a deep rooted
connect with the visual and performing arts, he
is a passionate champion and supporter of the
creative and artistic spirit. As a keen social
observer and catalyst of change, he promotes and
propagates all artistic forms and search for the
root and mooring of the human mind. As a
political thinker, activist and agent of change,
producing path breaking cinema is one of his
chosen methods. He has plans of collaborating
with Suman Mukhopadhyay in forthcoming productions.
Mallika Jalan is a
graduate from Cornell University, USA in
Communication Arts. She has worked in Public and
Commercial Television, both as an Executive
Producer as well as a Producer. She also works
with Corporate Houses as Producer for their
Corporate Videos. Mallika has co-produced a
Hindi language feature film Eashwar Mime Company
with the NFDC, GOI. Chaturanga is her second
film.
Indranil Mukherjee is
a graduate of the Film & Television
Institute of India, Pune. He started his career
as a freelancing DoP for channel V, doing over
40 telefilms with renowned directors. His
notable feature films are Bow Barracks Forever,
The Bong Connection, Chalo Let's go, BBD,
Chowrasta and Chaturanga.
Arghyakamal Mitra is
a graduate of Film & Television Institute of
India, Pune. As of now, he has edited 36 feature
films that include award-winning films of
Rituparno Ghosh, Aparna Sen and Suman
Mukhopadhyay. He has won three BFJA awards, one
Anandalok award and a few other awards for his
work.
Debajyoti Mishra is
an Indian composer with a distinct international
edge. His musical sensibility has been fashioned
by diverse influences, including western and
eastern classical music, and folk and post-modern
styles. An alumnus of London's Royal School of
Music, Mishra has creatively collaborated with
internationally directors like Govind Nihalni,
Mrinal Sen, Rituparno Ghosh, Bhavna Talwar,
Academy Award winner Florian Gallenberger and
more. His melodies in films like Chokher Bali,
Raincoat, Dharam, Hazar Chaurasi Ki Maa, Amar
Bhuvan and Shadows of Time have featured in
international film festivals like Berlin, Cannes,
London, Venice, and Munich.
Hiran Mitra is an
internationally acclaimed painter and designer.
He has had solo exhibitions in different parts
of the world, including Paris and London. He has
worked in few films as art director and visual
consultant and also as a scenographer in a
number of theatre and dance productions.
Chaturanga is his first film as a production
designer.
Armed with a diploma
in brand building communication, Suchismita
started her career in McCan Erickson, Kolkata.
Art direction and print production were her
forte in her formative years at the agency. She
is now into textile design and merchandising
with her company Nextiles. Suchismita has taken
part in a number of national exhibitions and
fashion shows. She travelled to Paris , Lyon and
Nancy under the Artist in Residence programme of
the French Ministry of Cultural Affairs in 2005.
Apart from designing clothes, she also designs
costumes for films (Parineeta, Bibar, Amra, No
problem, BBD, Chaturanga) and T.V. shows.
