About the play:
Fireface (Feuergesicht) features a
disintegrating nuclear family. The play retains a raw
sense of the arrogance of adolescence, the teenage feeling
that existence itself is a humiliation.
Director’s Note:
I like the play for its comtemporaneity.
Nonetheless, we adapted the German play to fit our own
social milieu. I have of course tried to retain the core
idea of the play: that adolescent withdrawal and parental
heedlessness are not only part of a contemporary familiar
pattern but also kindle a secret fury, which here erupts
in spectacular violence...
